WRL Adds Two New Team Members
Please join us in welcoming our two newest team members, Chris Conti and Colin McDevitt. Conti joined us a few months back as a Video and 3D Intern, and McDevitt was recently hired as a Digital Marketing Specialist.
Conti, an Ohio native, comes to us from Stark State College. Majoring in multimedia game design and animation, Conti is gaining valuable experience working alongside our video and motion graphics team. In his free time, Conti enjoys making plans with friends whether it’s grabbing coffee, getting angry at board games, or exploring in Pokémon Go. He also enjoys working on his portfolio website and playing with his husky, Pocahontas.
“Chris hit the ground running,” said James Hill, Director of Motion Graphics. “He’s quick, eager to learn, and takes pride in his work. With Chris’ hard work and initiative, his future is extremely bright. We’re very thankful to have him here at WRL.”
McDevitt, born and raised right here in North Canton, Ohio, is excited to start the next chapter in his career at WRL. His responsibilities include executing search engine optimization and digital marketing, aggregating, and analyzing data for client audits and analyses, implementing display ads, and other digital marketing initiatives.
McDevitt received his degree in Marketing Management from the University of Akron in 2019. Prior to joining WRL, McDevitt served as a Marketing Intern for Henkel Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio. He also has an extensive background in construction and tile work. In his free time, McDevitt enjoys gaming, eSports, martial arts, and spending time with his girlfriend of ten years and their three golden retrievers.
We asked our newbies a few questions to get to know them better. Check out their answers below.
Q: Why did you get into this field?
C: I’ve always loved sculpting since I was little and 3D modeling is essentially the computer equivalent. I also love animation as a medium of storytelling because of the endless possibilities.
M: I was intrigued by the psychological motivations behind buyer behavior.
Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
C: Animal Shapeshifting
M: Time Travel
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone present or past, who would it be?
C: Steve Carell
M: Action Bronson
Q: Do you have any pets?
C: I have two cats, Simba and Nala, and one dog named Pocahontas.
M: Yes! Three dogs (Tucker, Cooper, Finn) two cats (Ares and Osiris), and 20 chickens (Bonnie + Clyde and the gang).
Q: What are some of your favorite TV shows?
C: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Community, and DuckTales
M: Peaky Blinders, Bob’s Burgers, Black Mirror
Q: What is an interesting fact about yourself?
C: I was part of a non-profit Ghostbusters organization.
M: I was coerced into climbing the steps of the Willis Tower on a day’s notice to raise money for prosthetics research.
